Meet the Mega Power Frunk of the Ford F-150 Lightning

Mega Power Frunk F-150 Lightning

When you’re talking about the upcoming Ford F-150 Lightning, there are a lot of features worth mentioning. From its impressive power to its exceptional range to features like BlueCruise and Ford Intelligent Backup Power, it’s an all-around powerhouse. And thanks to the Mega Power Frunk, the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning has it going on under the hood, too.

Thanks to its dual-motor 4×4 system, the all-electric F-150 Lightning doesn’t have an engine. Ford engineers, led by award-winning chief engineer Linda Zhang, filtered customer feedback and devised ways to make this space as functional as possible.

The resulting Mega Power Frunk gives the Ford F-150 Lightning the largest front trunk storage space of any EV today. With 14.1 cubic feet of volume and the strength to support up to 400 pounds of payload, it’s great for everything from much to a couple of sets of golf clubs.

And because the Mega Power Frunk is waterproof, easy to clean, and drainable, you can even turn it into an impromptu cooler. It’s also lockable, and it offers six options for easy opening and closing.

While the Mega Power Frunk is an incredible innovation, it’s just one of many on the all-new Ford F-150 Lightning. To learn more about this amazing truck and how you can get yours, contact the experts at Sour Lake Ford in Sour Lake, Texas.

Ford Maverick Hybrid Gets Official MPG Rating

Ford Maverick

Ford has been talking a lot about the 2022 Ford Maverick and its standard hybrid powertrain. Now we know exactly how fuel-efficient this hybrid powertrain is: the EPA’s official estimate says that the Maverick achieves 42 mpg in the city. [1]

The Ford Maverick might have a high estimated fuel efficiency, but that doesn’t mean this truck cannot perform like its bigger Ford truck siblings. Its base towing capacity is 2,000 pounds when properly equipped and can go all the way up to 4,000 pounds with an additional trailering package. The Ford Maverick is also capable of handling up to 1,500 pounds payload in its bed. The Maverick’s truck bed is unique, with a multi-position tailgate and FLEXBED system to make sure that everything stays both secured and organized.

If you are going to be headed over particularly rough terrain with the Ford Maverick, you can upgrade to the truck with a gas engine and 4×4 powertrain.

The interior of the Ford Maverick truck can handle up to five passengers with plenty of legroom and headroom. Drivers will appreciate the Apple CarPlay® and Android™ Auto connectivity to their smartphones, and their passengers will love using the available built-in modem to connect up to 10 devices to Wi-Fi®.
