The upcoming Ford F-150 Raptor is expected to be an even more powerful and off-road capable vehicle than the current generation. In fact, rumors suggest that this rugged truck will have a spirited engine that surpasses even the engine of the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX.
The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX comes with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that delivers best-in-class 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. However, the next generation of the Ford F-150 Raptor may soon take away the Ram truck’s best-in-class titles with its new engine.
The F-150 Raptor might add the supercharged 5.2-liter V8, which could pump out anywhere from 725 horsepower to 750 horsepower, making for a more enjoyable drive than the Ram 1500 TRX offers. This engine currently comes standard on the athletic 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500®.
Other rumors suggest that the F-150 Raptor will have an updated coil spring setup in place of its leaf spring suspension. This would allow the truck to better compete with the Ram 1500 TRX, which has a five-link coil suspension.
The Ford F-150 Raptor may have limited availability in the 2021 model year or arrive in the 2022 model year. Stay tuned to our blog for more updates on this truck, or give us a call at Sour Lake Ford in Sour Lake, Texas, if you’d like to get your hands on the current F-150.
Starting with the 2021 model year, you can enjoy the exceptional navigation skills of TomTom in select Ford vehicles. Ford Motor Company and TomTom recently signed a multi-year contract that will allow the former to add the latter’s next-gen navigation in upcoming models.
The first Ford vehicles to showcase the new partnership will be the 2021 Mustang Mach-E and the 2021 F-150. These models will feature the new SYNC® 4, the next generation of infotainment from Ford. By using TomTom through SYNC® 4, drivers will be able to adjust their navigation routes based on traffic to help avoid delays due to congestion.
The next-generation SYNC® 4 is said to offer two times the computing power of previous generations. This new system paired with TomTom navigation will keep up with real-time traffic and construction updates to provide the fastest routes on the fly. Drivers will also be able to use SYNC® 4 for help with parking, as the navigation shows information on parking spots and prices.
TomTom navigation and other SYNC® 4 features can be controlled with natural voice recognition. By using an easy, conversational tone, drivers can pull up directions, find restaurants, or send text messages, all while keeping their hands on the wheel.

For Ford, customer satisfaction has always been a top
priority. It’s not totally surprising then that 88 percent of customers rated
the brand’s service as good or excellent.
Ford recently revealed Roadside Assistance Program updates to further boost client satisfaction. For starters, it’s made its call service even more efficient, cutting the time drivers spend on hold by half, while streamlining the process. Ford is also offering a Spanish language option for Latino customers, to save them time and make it easier for them to get answers to their auto-care questions.
Ford’s Roadside Assistance program covers the first five
years of ownership, or up to 60,000 miles traveled — whichever one comes first.
The program provides services such as lock-out assistance, tire changes, jump
starts, and fuel/fluid delivery. It also offers towing service to a nearby Ford
dealership within a 35-mile radius.
“Roadside assistance is one of the most meaningful
touchpoints we have with our customers, aside from selling them a vehicle,”
said Sterling Black, manager of Ford and Lincoln Roadside Operations. He says
it’s important that staff creates an experience that fosters a sense of trust
with the customer.
Celebrate Ford’s emphasis on customer contentment when you stop by Sour Lake Ford to test-drive a shiny new 2020 model.

Football has returned and there’s no better way to celebrate
than by going tailgating. Ford vehicles make great tailgating companions. Here
are just two models that make hosting your next party more convenient.
The Ford F-150 boasts many tailgating-friendly features. The
bed comes in different configurations — 5.5-, 6.5-, and 8-foot lengths — to
accommodate different tailgating setups, whether you’re hosting a party with
just few friends or your extended family.
It also has available LED lighting in the bed and on the
side mirrors to illuminate late-night games. Still not enough? The F-150 has
best-in-class towing so you can bring a grill station or a huge camper to
maximize the party. You can also set up a projector to watch the big game
outside thanks to the available 120-volt in-bed outlet.
For those who prefer an SUV profile, the Expedition offers plenty of space for people and things, while delivering the latest tech perks. Pack in the whole crew with up to eight seats. Or, load all the gear you need in the capacious trunk area that expands to 104.6 cubic feet of space when you collapse both back rows.
Wi-Fi hotspot capability provides a strong signal for 50
feet and enables you and your friends to connect up to 10 devices so you can stay
up-to-date on team scores. Or watch the game inside of the Expedition if the
weather gets chilly, via the display screens of the Dual-Headrest Rear Seat
Contact us at Sour Lake Ford if you’re in need of a new Ford

The end of summer signals the beginning of a new school season. Whether you’re dreading the drive or can’t wait to return, make sure you perform these essential back-to-school car maintenance steps before hitting the road this fall.
Lights and Wipers
Few things are as important to safe driving than
visibility, which is why it’s an absolute must to inspect all vehicle lights
and wipers before heading back to school. Make sure all headlamps, turn
signals, brake lights, and tail lights are working. And test your vehicle’s
windshield wipers to make sure they’re doing their job. If the wipers are
cracked, bent, or damaged, it’s easy and inexpensive to replace them.
Minor brake problems can gradually turn into major ones, so it’s important to address these issues as soon as they arise. If you’ve noticed any squealing or grinding while driving or braking, have your vehicle’s brakes serviced right away.
Healthy tires are key to great fuel economy as well as safe
driving. Make a habit of routinely checking your vehicle’s tires for proper
inflation and tire pressure, as well as tread condition.
