Ford Bronco Sport Tops KBB List of Coolest Cars for Dads

Dear old Dad has done just about everything for you. He changed your diapers, put up with you as a bratty teen, and kept you laughing with his corny jokes. Why not repay him for his sacrifices with a brand-new car like the Ford Bronco Sport?

Kelley Blue Book, one of the most trusted consumer resources for new car shopping, recently named the Ford Bronco Sport the coolest car for dads. The capable Bronco Sport outperformed all of the competition because of its family-friendly practicality that is matched only by its sense of adventure.

The KBB praised the Bronco’s off-road-ready capabilities, which include standard 4×4 capability, 23.6 inches of water fording ability, and a cool 8.8 inches of ground clearance. Your dad will love taking the grandkids on a camping adventure in the Bronco Sport, which offers accessories like a roof-mounted tent that can support up to 150 pounds.

The Bronco Sport Goes Over Any Terrain in with its powerful G.O.A.T. Mode™ selector that allows you to choose a traction setting that works for sandy, slippery, or normal terrain. Steel bash plates will keep Dad from damaging his Bronco Sport’s underbody when he’s off-roading, while the SUV’s best-in-class 65.2 cubic feet of cargo room lets him bring along all the tackle he wants on his next fishing trip.

Ford Raises 1.5 Million For Charity with VIN 001 Bronco and Mustang Mach 1

The VIN is a set of numbers of letters that identifies a specific vehicle. Each section of the code signifies what brand it is, the model year, some of its features, and finally which production number it has. Recently, Ford auctioned off VIN 001 for both the Bronco and Mustang Mach 1. Together, these vehicles brought in $1,575,000 for charity.

Ford sold these unique models at the 2021 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale. The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 went first. It was wearing a Fighter Jet Gray color and came equipped with the Handling Package. When all was said and done, it went for a price of $500,000. This money goes to JDRF, which leads the fight against type 1 diabetes.

The next day, the 2021 Ford Bronco First Edition VIN 001 hit the block. The bidding was more intense for this two-door model in a bold Lightning Blue color. It came in the top-tier Badlands trim with the added excitement of the Sasquatch Package. After a flurry of bids, the Bronco earned an impressive $1,075,000. These funds will head towards the National Forest Foundation and Outward Bound.

With these latest auction results, Ford and Barrett-Jackson have raised nearly $13.5 million for charities for the past 15 years.

It uses 35-inch Goodyear mud-terrain tires, 17-inch black-painted beadlock-capable wheels, Bilstein shock absorbers, electronic-locking front and rear Dana axles, and a 4.7:1 final drive ratio for supreme off-road balance and performance. When the package is paired with both the manual and 4×4 system, the Bronco achieves a maximum crawl ratio of 94.75:1.
